Introduced by Southern Railway in 1929 as British Pullman train section to Dover of London Paris Service "Fleche D’Or" counterpart to Calais.

Hauled initially by "Lord Nelson" and "King Arthur" locomotives, changing to "Southern" and "Britannia" Pacifics post-war.

Steam haulage replaced by Electric 1961 and service finally discontinued 1972.
