In 1990 the S.V.R. celebrates 25 years since the formation of the original society, during which time the line has re-opened between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, new buildings constructed and an interesting variety of locomotives and rolling stock returned to working order. The Severn Valley Railway is now one of the country's leading preserved railways and a major tourist attraction, due to the efforts of individuals and organisations who have contributed their time, effort and finance over the past quarter of a century.
