The S.V.R. (BR) Buffet Car Fund

The Severn Valley Venturer
The dining vehicles on this train belong to the S.V.R. (BR) Buffet Car Fund which was formed in 1980 to purchase British Railways catering vehicles for use on the Severn Valley Railway. These vehicles are entirely owned and staffed by volunteers.

1682 RB (Restaurant Buffet)
Built in 1961 by Pressed Steel and delivered to the Eastern Region of British Railways. The vehicle was purchased from Thornton Fields, Stratford, and delivered to the Severn Valley Railway in March 1981.

3103 FO (First Open)
Built in 1961 at Wolverton, one of a batch of 3 delivered new to the Scottish Region. This vehicle was purchased from Oxley (Wolverhampton) and delivered to the Severn Valley Railway during 1985.

Also on the Severn Valley Railway
1855 RMB (Restaurant Mini Buffet)
Built in 1961 at Wolverton and delivered new to the Eastern Region. It latterly served in Scotland, was purchased from Inverness and delivered to Bridgnorth in March 1983.

To the best of our knowledge, food served on the Severn Valley Venturer does not contain any genetically modified ingredients.
